Privacy policy.

This Privacy Policy describes how Hoagland Software Solutions (single-member llc, referred to here as “we” or “us”) handles information in connection with www.hoaglandsoftwaresolutions.com (the “site”). It covers what the site itself does with data (almost nothing), what the third-party tools embedded on the site do with data, and what choices you have.

The site itself stores nothing about you. We don’t run our own database of visitors, we don’t sell anyone’s data, and we don’t share contact-form submissions outside of our own inbox. What does get collected falls into three categories:

1. Google Analytics — page views, referrer, approximate location, device type. Detailed below.
2. Contact-form submissions — only what you type into the form on /contact, delivered to our inbox via Resend. Detailed below.
3. Standard web-server logs— the site is hosted on Vercel. Like every web host, Vercel’s edge servers receive your IP address and User-Agent header for each request, and may retain those logs briefly for abuse prevention and performance diagnostics. See Vercel’s privacy policy.

There is no Meta Pixel, no Microsoft Clarity, no Hotjar, no session-replay tool, no advertising retargeting, and no data brokers in the mix. If we ever add any of those, this section will be updated and the change will be flagged at the top of this page for at least 30 days.

Two third-party services are used by this site: Google Analytics, to measure traffic, and Resend, to deliver contact-form submissions. When you interact with them, your data is handled under their own privacy policies as well as ours.

Google Analytics 4

Every page on this site loads Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-BMN1QBS40E). GA4 sets cookies in your browser (typically _ga and _ga_*) to count returning visits, and records what we use to understand how the site is performing:

• Pages viewed and time on each page
• Referrer (which site or search engine sent you here)
• Approximate location derived from your IP address (city / region level, not street address)
• Device type, browser, operating system, and screen size
• Events like outbound link clicks and contact-form submissions (the fact that you submitted, not the contents)

Google receives and processes this data on its own infrastructure under the Google Privacy Policy. We don’t connect GA4 to Google Ads, we haven’t enabled advertising features or remarketing audiences, and we don’t use GA4 to identify individual visitors.

When you first visit the site, a banner asks whether to allow analytics. Until you click Accept, GA4 loads in Google’s “Consent Mode v2” denied state — no cookies are set and no measurement events are sent. Click Rejectand it stays that way. Your choice is saved in your browser’s localStorage so you aren’t asked again. To change your mind, clear site data for this domain and reload.

If you don’t want to be measured, install the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, enable your browser’s “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal, or block third-party scripts. Most modern privacy-focused browsers (Brave, Firefox with strict mode, Safari with cross-site tracking prevention) block GA4 by default.

Resend (contact-form delivery)

The contact form on /contact posts to a serverless function on our own domain. That function forwards your name, email address, business name, phone number (if provided), and project details to our inbox using Resend, a transactional email provider. Resend processes the message in transit; we do not maintain a separate copy outside of our email provider (Google Workspace).

We use the information you submit to respond to your inquiry, prepare proposals, and manage projects. We do not sell or rent this information. For details on how Resend handles data, see Resend’s Privacy Policy.

If you email us at seanh@hoaglandsoftwaresolutions.com, your message and contact details are stored in our email provider (Google Workspace). We retain those messages for as long as the business relationship is active and a reasonable archival period after. Please don’t include sensitive information in email that you wouldn’t want recorded.

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through this site, contact us and we’ll arrange for it to be deleted.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under California’s CCPA, the EU’s GDPR, or similar laws:

• Right to access — to ask what personal data we hold about you.
• Right to deletion — to ask us to delete it.
• Right to opt out of “sale”— we don’t sell or trade personal data to anyone, full stop. There is nothing to opt out of.
• Right to non-discrimination— exercising these rights won’t change how we treat you.

Important caveat: since this site itself stores almost nothing, most deletion requests will need to be routed to Google (for analytics data) or to our email provider, Google Workspace (for contact-form submissions). We can help you file either — just email us.

We don’t do behavioral tracking, retargeting, or any cross-site profiling, so DNT and GPC signals don’t change what this site does on its own. The Google Analytics script still loads; if you want it disabled, use the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or block third-party scripts in your browser. Most privacy-focused browsers (Brave, Firefox strict mode, Safari) already block it for you.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes — for example, adding analytics or any new third-party tool that handles your data — will be flagged at the top of this page for at least 30 days before taking effect.
